H-Alpha - The North American Nebula

NGC 7000 - Cygnus Wall

The Cygnus Wall is the "Mexican Gulf" portion of the North American nebula, NGC 7000. This image was captured on the patio of my townhouse which is located just a few miles from downtown Philadelphia. With the narrowband H-Alpha filter, almost all light pollution, including the light of the nearby Moon, is virtually eliminated making it possible to image faint nebula from even the most light polluted of sites.
